On May 22, the 2015 Smart Card & Mobile Security Conference – Latest Developments in Security Certification, Security Testing and Defense against Attack of Payment Products was successfully held by the SC Alliance (“SCA”) and mpaypass.com.

The conference attracted nearly 250 delegates representing up to 90 organizations in smart-payment-related ecosystems from 5 countries and regions. The organizations include 19 financial institutions represented by banks, clearing houses and third-party payment companies, 14 chip manufacturers represented by security chip and mobile chip manufacturers, 22 smart card manufacturers and COS providers, 7 security certification agencies represented by a security certification lab, 6 smartphone manufacturers, 9 POS terminal and banking equipment manufacturers, 3 security system and security software providers, 2 mobile network operators (MNO), 1 physical security material provider, and 7 other security organizations.

Moderated by Neil Ding, the Secretary General of SCA and General Manager of Shanghai Aoh Smart Technology Co., Ltd., the conference facilitated an in-depth discussion on the developments in China’s and international security standards for traditional payment products (PBOC, EMV, CC) and security testing of and defense against attacks on widely-discussed new payment technologies, such as TEE, HCE, Tokenization. Over morning and afternoon panels, 12 security experts from finance, telecom, security chip, mobile device, physical environment security, international testing and certification, security solutions, and research and academia held heated discussions before an industry audience. The extent of the debate and exchange of views turned the panels into a “super brainstorm” for the industry. Audience reactions included, “The conference is so great! But it’s too short.” It’s true that people always have too much to discuss when they share common interest. This professional conference gave experts and the audience from all over the world with keen interest in payment product security a golden opportunity to share their experiences and ideas.
